What went into my Bag you ask...

Weeks before I left for this trip, Dan and I spent countless hours online and in shops looking for the perfect equipment for this particular mountain. Hope this can come in handy for anyone doing the same.

  The Big Stuff
Bibler Awahnee 2 Tent Awesome tent, not the best for this mountain because of high winds. If you want the best get the Fitzroy from Bibler or a Northface V25. We had condensation problems above 16,500 big time. So if you don't mind having it snowing in your tent from your own sweat - stay away from the Biblers. It'll be fantastic tho in the ADK's!!! Big Window and Door!
Marmot Col Rated (-20 F) Sleeping Bag The love of my life... She kept me warm and toasty even after 3 days of stormin' norman, and even after the icicles rained on us all night and covered us both. The Dryloft worked so well - couldn't believe she was still mostly dry on the inside. Wished the hood was a little bigger.

MSR Whisperlite 600 Internatinal Stove This stove has worked without a hitch since i bought it back in '98. But it failed against Viento Blanco, not sure if anything would work against it maybe the AKG by MSR. Had to fabricate a new windscreen after the flimsy aluminum one blew away, made it out of used freeze dried meal pack and wire - worked great!! I have pictures.
Canon 10D Digital Camera Can't say enough about this Camera. Great battery life (bring at least 2) even in cold weather the Li-Ion recharchable lasts about 7 shooting days. Other hikers look at me in disbelief and can't believe i carry it. They say "you're carrying that thing to the top???!?". If you're not big into pictures take a diposable, or a very small digital. It's worth it to me. Rather have great pictures to look at years later.

  The Warm Fuzzy Stuff
Mountain Hardware Sub-Zero Down Parka Parka We called this our sleeping bag away from our tent, once that sun went down you better make sure you have this puppy close by and towards the top of your pack. The Parka length is very nice to have, the extra down around your waist was well worth the extra money.
Arc'Teryx Alpha SV Jacket/Bibs GoreTex Shells Picked up some new GoreTex for this trip, a lot has changed since i got my Marmot Guide jacket 5 years ago. The ArcTeryx products weight nothing, 100% waterproof and pack so small (the marmot old stuff took up half my pack). Check this Canadian company out.
Koflach - Arctis Expe Double Shell Plastic Boots Two thumbs down! Wasn't so please with this product, my feet were often wet cold and cramped on the downhills. On the other hand my other new boots (Garmont) were awesome! You win some, you lose some. and some you return! haha :-)
