Hiking
can be anything from an afternoon walk in the woods,
to a month long trek over high peaks and many miles
of trail. The decision to do one or the other is up
to you - the hiker. Some do it for the challenge, some
to get away from the world, and some have other goals
in mind... Hiking offers many benefits to ones life,
one that everyone should try at least once...
As with most sports, starting small is probably the
best way to start. There are many mountains nearby which
offer plenty of challenges, and offer magnificent views
which aren't necessarily the the tallest. In fact it
turns out that many of the lowest mountains can offer
some of the best views and vistas when compared to some
of the highest peaks in a range... Hiking requires a
certain amount of commons sense to keep you and your
fellow hikers safe and healthy. The dangers of being
hours from any roads, emergency services including ambulances
& hospitals create the possibility of increased
risk. Being properly prepared for your trip and having
the ability to make educated decisions can make or break
any trip. Knowing ones limits is important.
